Application Instructions/Information
Purpose: to temporarily allow access to the evacuation order area to address the following:
- Critical Infrastructure or utility agencies may require access in order to service (ie. refuel, inspect) or make repairs to affected critical equipment and sites
- Members of the agriculture sector or residents that may need to make essential repairs to fencing, feed or evacuate livestock, or tend to essential crops
- Community members may request access so they can retrieve important documents or supplies (ex. medications, business items), or tend to their domestic animals.
Applications must be received at least 24 hours prior to the intended date of entry by 9:00 am, and all required fields in the online application form must be completed. Details must be provided on the purpose for entry and the route to be taken to the destination. The intended location must also be indicated.
Applications will be reviewed by the Regional District of Central Kootenay and other agencies to evaluate requests.
Each TAP is valid for a single one-hour entry, although this time may be lessened or revoked if wildfire conditions change or worsen. You will be escorted by the RCMP, or designate.
Given the nature of an evacuation order area and conditions, a temporary access permit can be revoked at anytime. If this occurs entry will not be permitted and a new application will be required.
Absolutely no one under the age of 19 will be permitted entry into the evacuation order area.
A maximum of 1 (one) driver and 2 (two) passengers may be permitted per application.
Time of entry will be determined upon approval of application.
If approved, you will receive an email confirmation indicating the date, time and checkpoint you will be permitted entry. Upon arrival at the entry checkpoint, you will be provided an evacuation zone entry permit that you will be required to sign.
